At 500,000 acres, Douglas Lake is Canada’s largest working cattle ranch, running nearly 20,000 head of cattle. This private reserve meanders through the fragrant pockets of pine forests and alpine meadows that make up the lush Nicola Valley, located in the heart of British Columbia’s Interior.
In addition to countless varieties of wildlife, Douglas Lake boasts more than 40 private lakes that are reputed by some North American experts to offer the best trout fly-fishing in the world.
Both wild Rainbow and Kamloops trout are native to the various lakes on this ranch and catches range from 3 to 10+ pounds.
