John's Harbor is at the edge of the continental shelf
where thousands of migrating Chinook (Kings)
Salmon feed on giant schools of herring.
In this area you are fishing at a depth of about 100 feet. And the key are deep holes in the ocean floor that house billions of tiny plankton necessary for the food chain. Herring and anchovy thrive on the plankton, and are in turn eaten by the Salmon and larger bottom fish. When the bite is on, it is not uncommon to get hits at every pass over the same area.
From July 20 -September 6 fishing is almost guaranteed 10 hours per day and the fishing hot spots are less than 10-minutes from your accommodation which means that you can take a break, or go in for a hot meal and not lose out when the action starts.
Because Milbanke Sound is on the extreme West Coast, spectacular sunsets are a regular evening feature, which can be enjoyed while relaxing in the hot tub with a glass of your favorite refreshment.
